Hi Zedturtle,

Where did you get Viglar's Stead's location from. Any reason why it is on the other side of Anduin from his father? When I'm reading the HotW I picture a community of Hunters at that location led by Amfossa.

Cheers

Purely my invention, for the needs of my game. I'm amenable to slight tweaks, but I picture Viglar as old enough and independent enough to strike out on his own.

Signs of life...

(Me and the kids went to my ex-wife's house last weekend, I fetched my drawing table out of the shed. So the map project has a better place to live now, rather than the kitchen table.)

So I've been thinking... I stitched together the two official C7 maps (to work off of), but then I got frustrated by the lack of Western Eriador and the southlands. Of course, there are plenty of maps out there, but my goal is for my map to be almost exact in proportions and geographical locations to the official maps (just with more detail and a different style). So maybe a better way forward would be to do area maps, and not worry (at the time) to do the equivalent of the big map from LOTR?

Anyone have opinions on this?

Oh I would vote for stitching together.

North Ford (analogical to Old Ford community) is a good choice, too.
I am slowly brewing the adventure in these parts and for our game that location by the ford will be the Viglar's base of operations. At first I used your name for his place (Viglar's Stead) but I think I will change it to North Fort to play down the son's significance in the "kingdom" and reserve his father's name only to be associated with Viglunding settlements. At least for now, when Viglund is still around.

To answer your last question, based on the sample and your Moon adventure, it is safe to bet, either way you approach the map, it will be great. I can wait. We won't be moving away form Wilderland and especially the Anduin valley anytime soon.

I like that a lot. I think we will go with that idea. Thanks!

If by "area" Zed meant at smaller scale/higher detail than official maps the I agree. At least in terms of game utility. Aesthetically I'd still love to see one big map.
