Sounds like the way to go is a series of detail maps, designed to fit together into a master map.

Especially if it's all digital so that you can zoom in and have the detail appear.

Oh, and can you do it in 3D while you're at it?

You know, stereoscopic. So that I can cross my eyes just right and it will pop out in 3D.

Definitely. That would give the most choice and satisfy people that wanted a big all-in-one map as well as those that would just like regional ones.

My first vote goes for Laketown and its environs, or perhaps a map of erebor all the way down to the bight, the eastern vale if you will.

... I'd be happy to just let zed forge ahead with what he's done and the order that inspires him the most - the idea being that this gives us the greatest chance of seeing them completed; though I would like to see Wilderland mapped before moving on to those lands west of the Misty Mountains.
