Greetings and Salutations one and all.
I am a Victoriana player mainly and am running a game of at this time. Enjoying it lots and have loved the 19th Century every since reading the Flashman Books by George Macdonald Fraser.
But, I am a huge LotR fan from way back. I'm older than I look.
I have the main rule book and the Rivendell book and am enjoying the look and feel of them.
Have not read the rules system properly yet but.
It is good that the game books seem to capture what I feel is the true essence of LotR and it seems I am not alone in that. Also I am applauding the work of the authors.
This is probably a bit presumptuous what with Ruins of the North just having been released but did I read a wee while ago that the writers and Cubicle 7 were going to look at a Rohan book? which may include Lorien as well?

I believe it's [Rohan] the next book in the release schedule*; not sure it will include anything on Lorien though - I doubt it as they are thematically very different.

* There's also "Journeys and Maps" which could conceivably come out before "Horse-lords of Rohan" [the Rohan Book] as it's a collection of maps and additional travel rules, etc.

But the Rohan book may include rules/descriptions for Fangorn. I'm pretty sure Isengard will be included in it.

I have found that TOR captures for me the feel of being a hero in the Tolkien mold quite well.

I am not expecting Rohan to include Lorien, as Rich said they are thematically quite different. I do hope we see some more details on Lorien soon though. But it does seem to be quite an isolationist place in the late Third Age, so it may be lower on C7's priority list.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy TOR as much as the rest of us do.

Well, the Adventurer's Companion (which is the next book after the Rohan one) apparently has stats for playing an Elf of Lorien (along with lots of other new Cultures). Given that their isolationism and relatively idyllic internal stuff make actually adventuring within Lorien weird, I'd say that's probably all we need.

Just as a little point of interest, but this is Jon Hodgson's favourite piece of Angus Mcbride MERP artwork:

... I'd really like to see him do a cover for a similar TOR supplement so we have the two great Middle Earth RPG artists side-by-side. :) Also, you could easily expand such a supplement to include either (a) adventure locations around it or (b) pair it up with the Grey Havens.

Loth Lorien and the Grey Havens would be an excellent supplement. The two remaining bastions of elvish culture that have not recieved coverage.

You could throw Edhellond with the pair, either as an elven ruin or as a hidden haven, out of the annals of humankind but still manned by secretive elves.

Grey Havens take no part in the final struggle against the Shadow. You might include him in the supplement, but does it worth the cost?
Nothing of Worth.
