TOR at Gencon
Re: TOR at Gencon
Alright, I'm about to go into radio-silence mode for GenCon. Looking forward to meeting everyone, especially fireflies from Moria and falcons from Mirkwood.
I'll be the overweight bearded white guy with a geeky t-shirt* on, I'm sure I'll stick out like a sore thumb.

* the t-shirt will not be black... I'm given to understand that this may indeed set me apart.

Can there be a more appropriate circumstance than GenCon for the famous farewell, "Have fun storming the castle!"zedturtle wrote:Alright, I'm about to go into radio-silence mode for GenCon. Looking forward to meeting everyone, especially fireflies from Moria and falcons from Mirkwood.

Just wanted to say thank you to zedturtle for running Theft of the Moon. I had a blast, and I know others did as well. It was obvious that you spent a lot of time preparing for the event, and it definitely added to the experience! Best event of the con for me.

“...his old life lay behind in the mists, dark adventure lay in front...”
Re: TOR at Gencon
Glad to hear it, and I do apologize again for the rough start (turns out I've been doing lots of play-by-post games and my improv/act it out muscles had atrophied). I think also we need a more colorful character in the game... Ratwulf needs to be a braggart and Torbald needs to more mercantile (Would you like to buy some jam?).mirkwoodfalcon wrote:Just wanted to say thank you to zedturtle for running Theft of the Moon. But I had great groups for all my games and had a ton of fun.
A more detailed response will have to wait for a real keyboard.

Re: TOR at Gencon
Zed, it was awesome hanging out with you at Gen Con! You were such a HUGE help to me during a couple of my games personally (thanks for all the player-aids and your willingness to serve; not to mention the cups of water that saved my throat!), and I can confidently say that the guys from C7 were extremely appreciative of all that you did. I really enjoyed getting to know you and I look forward to growing our friendship. I wish we could have had more time just to sit and talk. Also, I hope you enjoyed being a fill-in player at my table. I know it's a lot different than being the Loremaster!

I am Grim. I am Reckless. I am running away right now.
It was a ton of fun. And, yes, once I've recovered from my travels and travails today, expect to hear more from me.

James' reputation as a stellar LM had preceded him... folks in one of my games were raving about him. So, I asked him if I could sit in on one of his games. It was one of the best decisions that I've made in a long while.

Had an awesome time, so glad I was able to get in on a TOR game. I really want to see the Rohan stuff now (as if I didn't before). Meeting James Brown was very cool as well. Also got to meet several of the crew, very nice guys. Thanks to all for what you do

Do tell more. I really wish we weren't separated by huge expanses of water as there are lots of people here I'd like to meet in real life.zedturtle wrote:James' reputation as a stellar LM had preceded him... folks in one of my games were raving about him. JRB is a great LM; he really helped remind me to open up and be more expansive in my descriptions and characterization. I do a lot of PbP games and my sense of live game pacing had atrophied. Watch James work his magic helped a lot.Rich H wrote:Do tell more. Also, he's just a great guy... as he mentioned we took the opportunity to hang out when we could and i really appreciated his time and thoughts on stuff.
And, yes, I'd love to hang out with everyone here IRL.
