I started a thread in House Rules with an idea for a new system:

Re: Permanent Hunt Threshold?
Are you really play with nine players at the same game session? Five for me is the maximum players I can handle, and four is better for role-playing. So I can understand the Treshold Problem.
For the negative modifier of Hobbit, that sound rubbish: (...and I take 10 hobbit in my company to hide them from Sauron).
Revelations episode must be see like inconscious effect by Sauron: I'm sure he his unaware consciensciously of what happen, but his malevolence will is everywhere but certain area of Middle-Earth.

Nothing of Worth.

"Rubbish" is a little harsh, but you raise an interesting point: a Hobbit may be more less "visible" (metaphorically) to the Eye, but adding more Hobbits shouldn't make the group more hidden.

We're back to spirit of the rules vs. letter of the rules. If you really were going to abuse it and send 10 hobbits then, fine, you have a starting Eye Awareness of zero, as you can't go into negative values. That's 10 hobbit PCs plus anyone else you take along all rolling dice and every time an EYE is rolled that's increasing your Eye Awareness. With those kind of numbers you'd quickly hit the Threshold and produce revelation episodes. You could easily cap the applicability beyond, off the top of my head, no more than 4 hobbits reducing Eye Awareness.Terisonen wrote:For the negative modifier of Hobbit, that sound rubbish: (...and I take 10 hobbit in my company to hide them from Sauron).
But the thread in the house rule forum is for discussing this kind of thing; it's why it was created so we should take any further discussions on alterations over there.

Yes, I really am. Remember it's a virtual tabletop (play by post) so everyone gets a chance to speak, without being interrupted by anyone.Terisonen wrote:Are you really playing with nine players at the same game session? Jacob Rodgers, occasional nitwit.
