New TOR Core Manual and Revised Manuals

Post by Nebbiotto » Wed Jun 17, 2015 9:47 am

Hi, hope this is not off topic or previously addressed already but i couldn't find any other post so here i am:

What other manuals are going to be revised like Tales from Wilderlands?

Some of them should be already on par with the new manual, but i was wondering if there are any other who could benefit form the same revision.

(this because i plan on buying em all one by one and i'm trying to plan when to buy them and if to wait for some of them to be revised)

Thank you,
N.

You'll have to wait for official announcements as besides TfW there has been no other confirmations.

Tales from Wilderland was revised in order to make it hardback (lots of fans requested it) and in keeping with the other books and because it's last print run had sold out so it was a great opportunity to re-release it in a matching format as to the other books. In all honesty, the rules revisions within it are extremely low impact and would be easy for any Loremaster to apply to their old copy - ie, it's mostly to do with hazards.

Personally, I'd pick up the books now as without (a) any solid news and (b) the low impact of the rules revisions I would suspect it'll be unlikely that revised editions of the older hardbacks will be any time soon, if at all, to be honest.

We have no current plans to update the other supplements for The One Ring.

Thanks for the kind replies.

I'm going to order every single manual for the one ring this afternoon and just wanted to be sure.

Since i'll have to buy the others when they come out anyway i could have waited if any of the others was foreseen to be updated or could greatly benefit form an update.

Thanks again for the quick reply and clarifications.

A fan and customer.

You won't regret it. They aren't just great RPG books but are beautifully presented as well. I actually have them on my 'proper' bookshelf next to my Tolkien books!

... Don't be worried about the need for an update. It's my opinion that none of them do. Even TfW didn't, from a rules perspective, although it did from a format one - can't have it in softback and the other books in hardback! So, it was very thoughtful of C7 to decide to bring it out in hardback... ... And find another way of taking my money from me! ;)

Remember also that C7 is great about updating PDFs, like they did for Tales, or providing a supplement, like they did for the original box set.
