Do we give an AP check-mark for Preliminary rolls?
I think the answer is yes but it seems to go against the spirit of "to be checked when a hero does something
worthy of an Advancement point"—p.24
AP for bonus rolls?
Re: AP for bonus rolls?
I think you may be misinterpreting what is meant here. When it says "worthy of an advancement point" it's simply stating when a skill check qualifies for an advancement point - ie, under the rules on page 212, then it is worthy of an advancement point. I think a slightly clearer phrase could have been adopted here (perhaps it dates back to the slipcase rules when the guidelines for awarding APs were a little more open to LM interpretation and adjudication) but the rules on the above page are pretty clear and easy to follow so whether you would award an AP for a preliminary roll would depend on those.

Re: AP for bonus rolls?
I'd say you can. After all, to get that AP, you probably had to get a great success, or even an extraordinary success. So when you do that on a prelim roll, it means 'you're Batman prepared for what lies ahead.'
Such prep gives you the AP.
Such prep gives you the AP.
Re: AP for bonus rolls?
A Preliminary roll is as important as any other roll, so the answer is absolutely yes.
Someone who can think ahead or foresee what the group is going to face deserves advancement points.

Re: AP for bonus rolls?
As I said in my reply, only if they qualify as per the rules on page 212. I think we need to be clear as to when such APs are awarded as your statement could be read as getting on AP under any circumstances which wouldn't be correct. The OP was expressing confusion about the "worthy of advancement" quote in the rules after all.Falenthal wrote:A Preliminary roll is as important as any other roll, so the answer is absolutely yes.
