Robin S.[/quote] Mirkwood got a fearsome status in their mind

Well done Robin - Mirkwood should shake them
BTW, I'm going to try the rolling each leg suggestion & see how it works.

The original rules can get a bit unwieldy and you can lose the sense of atmosphere if everyone's making ten rolls each. The newer ones with the mod of Hazards (I like that the eye always means a hazard regardless of success - I see you) are more pacy and allow us to stay in the zone a bit more. It comes down to personal preference and how much you like the sound of dice hitting the table ultimately!

I worked on a further revised set combining the original rules, Francesco's revised ones, and input from various posters here. It seems to work well for my group.

Hey Rich,
do you know where I can find some of the files in your TOR resources thread that are no longer working.
Particularly:
2) Alternate Journey Rules (a combination of numerous ideas from various people):

and
10) To Journey's End and the Eagles' Eyrie (an adventure taking the PCs from Lake Town to the Eagles' Eyrie):

Or anyone else happen to know where these can be found?

Hi Folks,
I'm running TOR "His Master's Voice" at Gen Con 2014 and just picked up the revised rules edition PDF which I'm planning on using. I was surprised to see that the Journey section did not match up with the Revised Journey 3.0 rules but after reading this thread I get the feeling that maybe instead of a rules replacement it's more of a rules option based on how much dice rolling your party might like to engage in for Journeys?
The language for Revised Journey 3.0 gave the impression it was a full on replacement. I try to run rules as written at Gen Con so it looks like I'm going with the original rules version and not 3.0 but I'm interested in your comments and confirmation on this matter.

The revision was never meant as a replacement for the original rules. It is simply as an alternate if you preferred lower rolling. The fact that the original rules have been retained (with a little tweaking) in the Revised Rulebook seems to make the matter beyond doubt.

Hi Frank! See you at Gen Con. I am running a TOR adventure too. I don't remember seeing your name on the list of Loremasters from C7, but you are definitely listed on the Gen Con website. Maybe your game is independent of C7?
EDIT: I see now that you are running the game as a representative of your event group: MU Skulls and not Cubicle7. Cool! Hope your adventure is exciting and everyone has a great time.
There was a change in the adventure being run by Cubicle7 from "A Long Way from Home" to "Nightmares of Angmar." It hasn't been corrected on the Gen Con listing, but that's what the change is.

James, when is your GenCon game?
