Original or revised journey rules?
Re: Original or revised journey rules?
If I can haul myself out of bed I'll be there!

Awesome! I'm looking forward to meeting you. Make sure you let me know that you're "shipwreck" on the forum. I highly doubt that's your actual name. Lol.

No, I'm Derek. Will you be by the C7 booth?

Yes, you will find me at the C7 booth for the entirety of the convention (except when I'm running the game on Friday morning, of course!).
In regards to the topic of the thread... As Skywalker has pointed out, The One Ring hardback confirms the original journey rules remain with an interesting change to the way hazard episodes are handled, including triggering an episode whenever an EYE is rolled on a Fatigue test (even if the roll is a success). Personally, I also love the new Consequences for Failure Hazard table on page 161. This tool, of course, was not part of the original rules; the Loremaster was responsible to create the consequences using inspiration from the sample Hazard episodes.

Me too, with the exception of the one they can lead to, potentially, all PCs being Miserable. I think that could easily be a game-breaker.jamesrbrown wrote:Personally, I also love the new Consequences for Failure Hazard table on page 161. I do, both as props and Hazard resolution. It's just easier than rolling the dice and you have pics to go on as well. Having the cards in addition to all the other materials is a little cumbersome, but still worth havingJoeArcher wrote:Just curious if anyone uses the cards from the "Hobbit Tales" card game?

I do. My group LOVES THEM!!! Several inspirational bits, bits that we would have never before conceived, have been introduced by the cards. For example, one pulled card, OLD SWORD, was implemented as an old sword that poked up out the soil, identifying the site of an old battle...the Beorning failed the associated roll and gained 1 Shadow when reminded his clan suffered great losses at this battle.JoeArcher wrote:Just curious if anyone uses the cards from the "Hobbit Tales" card game?
