Dom just announced that they're checking over The Darkening of Mirkwood .

what does "checking over" mean? Does that tell us how far along until they release it?

'Checking over' is game publisher speak for the material is written, edited and laid out and is being further reviewed to see that everything is OK, a last minute double-check before the product goes to the printer.

I spoke with Dom this afternoon at Indiecon and he said that, fingers crossed, it might be out in pdf by Christmas or early January and in print by early February if all goes well at the printers.

Yeah, my group's TOR Campaign is on hold until I can digest Heart and Darkening at the same time and make sure I'm not developing ideas in isolation that get in the way of anything groovy from C7/SG and the team.
