I'd really like to see the Adventurer's Companion sometime soon. D&D 5E is not a well-designed rules system and not something for which I want to see TOR material; that said, lots of people are excited for it, but I worry it's simply going to hog all the design space and we'll never get the Companion with the nifty stuff I've been very eagerly anticipating since they announced it.

Looks like I'm the only one who'd like to see Erebor before the other supplements..... damn n blast!!

As much as the others will be on my 'to get' list, Having Erebor in my opinion completes 'the map' of the Wilderland/Rhovanion. I'd love to see supplements for Gondor/Umbar and Dorwinion/Rhun and Lindon/Blue Mountains.... I'm not asking for much on my Santa list.... just everything ;)

Havinor, it's just that we've been anticipating the other releases for so much longer! Erebor was only recently announced by comparison.

You might be right about Middle-earth for D&D, Lara, but aren't you getting ahead of yourself? You are ragging on it sight-unseen (assuming you haven't actually play-tested it). It might turn out to be brilliant, depending on how the base mechanics have been tweaked.

As it's based on the OGL (the only choice not foreknowledge) the mechanics are unlikely to be much changed from core 5e. You might see specific character classes but that's probably about it. I suspect that it will be more a case of here's the classes and a guide to converting TOR scenarios to run under 5e.

I must disagree. I've seen many OGL produces appear over the years and some of them (even when they are still fantasy RPGs) differ radically from the core D&D rules. Even other WotC games using the same core mechanics can have a very different feel. Your assessment might turn out to be correct, but you might also be very wrong.

hahaha fair do's Otuka-Sempai, that's understandable :)

Don't get me wrong I totally agree, the Companion will be an excellent tool and to be fair, I am a long way behind many of you. But for me the Lonely Mountain is like the jewel in the crown of the Wilderland. Location-wise, it is the focal point of the Hobbit and I think with the way C7 have brought so many other areas to life for players, it's going to be an awesome supplement.
