Re: More information on "Adventures in Middle-earth"
Ooh quick update - I'm updating the various instances of the FAQ to this effect, but worth mentioning - if you pre-order both supplements, we'll send them to you individually as soon as we get them from the printer: we won't hold the Player's Guide until the LMG is printed.
Re: More information on "Adventures in Middle-earth"
Even though I'm quite happy with the original rules, I pre-ordered this the moment I got the chance. Partly due to my loyalty to C7, but also because my son plays D&D 5th edition, and my impression of it is that it is very good and quite flexible compared to previous editions.Jon Hodgson wrote:Hmmm, I wonder whether I'll be able to communicate what I mean when I say this. Of course we want everyone to buy everything we do. Mortgages gotta get paid, and working in gaming isn't the path to personal riches for most of us.Rich H wrote:I'm not sure whether I want to order this or not... I'm definitely curious but it isn't something I really need as I have TOR. Hmmmm.
That said, if you're really happy with TOR, and it delivers on what you want from a Middle-earth game, then you shouldn't feel in anyway obliged to buy AME. The very last thing we want to do is sell someone a game and have them later think "Why did I get this?".
The people we really want to reach are those we meet at shows (and who of course exist in even greater droves outside of conventions) who take a look at TOR, are interested, and when they learn it's not "d20" or equivalent, put it straight back down and walk away.
As I suspect we all agree, there's a lot of great stuff in TOR, and we want to bring that to that whole new audience who just don't have the inclination to learn a new system. While also continuing to make really awesome TOR material.
Contractually mandated statement: Buy everything. Several times. ( )
If C7 releases a 120 page hardcover book of tables to randomly determine what's in a Hobbit's pockets, I would buy it. Just keep up the great work and quality.

Re: More information on "Adventures in Middle-earth"
Are there spell casters with spells like fireball and chain lightning?
Will there be stats for Gandalf, and can I kill him?
Is there plate armour in Adventures in Middle-earth?
Best FAQ I've ever read about a Middle-eart game.
It only lacks the "Will there be dual-wielding?" question.
Or is it included in the
question?Does combat change?

Completely random comment, but: I sorta love "dual-wielding" after all the years on this forum... It's that sort of love you eventually get for things you really, really hate. But it's love nonetheless.

Re: More information on "Adventures in Middle-earth"
You CAN dual-wield in D&D 5th edition, from what I understand, so I see no reason you can't do it in Adventures in Middle Earth... unless C7 put in a sidebar saying "Dual-wielding is strictly not allowed in Middle Earth."

Now there's an idea. I wonder if there's still time?
