Lembas vs. Dunedain
Does the Dunedain restriction prevent them from using the Lorien elves' lembas? Cause as I recall, Aragon had no trouble eating it when he was running after Merry and Pippin.

Given how Lembas works, no I don't believe a Dunedan couldn't benefit from it. I'd generally assume that, like Aragorn, he's eating it along with everyone else...he just receives no mechanical benefits from doing so.

Fair point. Kinda sad the humans that like elves the most somehow can't benefit from their waybread.
Re: Lembas vs. Dunedain
The food was mostly in the form of very thin cakes, made of a meal that was baked in a light brown on the outside, and inside was the colour of cream. Gimli took up one of the cakes and looked at it with a doubtful eye.
'Cram,' he said under his breath, as he broke off a crisp corner and nibbled at it. His expression quickly changed, and he ate all the rest of the cake with relish.
'No more, no more!' cried the Elves laughing. 'You have eaten enough already for a long day's march.'
Aragorn took a corner of the lembas and nibbled it. He spat, and a fit of coughing shook him.
'Ach! No!' he spluttered. 'You try choke poor Aragorn. Dust and ashes, he can't eat that. He must starve. But Aragorn doesn't mind. Poor thin Aragorn!'

Re: Lembas vs. Dunedain
It is a seperate Fellowship pool, so I would rule that Rangers could benefit from that pool.
Seems odd, if they can't. Hence the comments above
Cheers

One game to rule them all: TOR
Re: Lembas vs. Dunedain
I think the separate pool is mentioned as it can only be used on a journey, that way it's easier to keep track of rather than mix it up with the standard Fellowship Pool. It is however still refered to as a Fellowship pool and Rangers can't access those so I'd still rule that they can't benefit mechanically from Lembas if we're going by the RAW.Indur Dawndeath wrote:It is a seperate Fellowship pool, so I would rule that Rangers could benefit from that pool.

Re: Lembas vs. Dunedain
I wonder if that was the intent. Did they think about the Dunedain restriction when they worked Lembas up that way? Or did it get overlooked?
Re: Lembas vs. Dunedain
All legitimate questions. The writers were careful enough to say that it was a separate Fellowship pool as it can only be used on journeys so I would be surprised if they hadn't considered the Rangers restriction.Angelalex242 wrote:I wonder if that was the intent. Re: Lembas vs. Dunedain
But then there's the logic of: "Why do we want the most acclaimed Elf Friends out there (Rangers) to not benefit from Lembas? Particularly since Rangers get the most important benefit out of the Twice Baked Honeycakes (TN reduction) just fine."
