Acquiring the PDF's
Acquiring the PDF's
Is there a cheaper way to go about getting the PDF's for sourcebooks than DriveThruRpg? The list prices for the PDF's there are nearly the same prices i paid for getting the hardcopies from Coolstuffinc. I've acquired quite a collection now, and really wish i would have bought some combo deals that included the PDF instead of just buying the books. I really want to use the charts, text, and images as is.
Also, if I don't end up getting the PDF's, is there a place i can get images from the books to use as a visual reference for players during my campaigns?

Re: Acquiring the PDF's
If you had purchased the physical products from the Cubicle 7 webstore or other retailers participating in the 'bits & mortar' program then you would have received free PDFs along with the actual books.

Then there's the Bundle of Holding (https://bundleofholding.com/) if C7 ever do another TOR one. These offers are only available for a short time though so people need to get on board, fast.
C7 may do a bundle of PDFs on Drivethru', worth dropping them an email to see if they have any plans; otherwise you're just going to have to buy them separately and for books you don't already have remember to buy direct from the C7 shop or support a gaming store that is signed up to the Bits and Mortar scheme (http://www.bits-and-mortar.com/).

Only samples/promotion images on the C7 site or related sites like Jon's (and other artists) art pages etc. You just have to hunt them down etc.

Re: Acquiring the PDF's
AFAIK the publishers set the prices of all products. It is unfortunate that it seems the price point of PDF editions of RPGs is creeping up (almost to the price of the hard copy itself) to the point of being ridiculous.
Re: Acquiring the PDF's
If TOR were much more expensive in PDF, I'd be priced out.
The rising costs notwithstanding, most of my non-TOR purchases are in bundle deals, where the cost per PDF is under $3...

I suspect royalties/licence fees make up a good proportion of the cost of those pdf's. Saul Zaentz aka ME Enterprises isn't known for its philanthropy.

Though Middle-earth Enterprises lives on, Saul Zaentz entered the Halls of Mandos in 2014 and passed to whatever awaits beyond.Hermes Serpent wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2017 7:46 amI suspect royalties/licence fees make up a good proportion of the cost of those pdf's.
