I can recommend this group on Facebook - "Wargaming in Middle Earth", great place to ask about minis & get ideas.
"This group is non rules, non figure scale, non manufacturer specific. The only thing that is specific is the Genre & "Period" - Tolkien's Middle Earth - anything from 1st Age to 4th Age is cool. So whether you play/collect 6mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 28mm, even 54mm - then this is a great place to share what you've been up to. Anything from rpg skirmish, with a few figures, up to epic battles, is welcome."

Any ideas for Wild Men of Mirkwood? The best I can think is Foundry Savage Germanic Tribes, there are two blisters with spears and they're nude or with bits of fur clothing...I don't want them looking too muscular, as I imagine they'd be thin and miserable due to being spider thralls.
I'm going to use these:

They appear appropriately savage, although they are still pretty muscular they are slightly less heroic in stature/proportions compared to other miniatures so I reckon they will fit the job.

Far too heroic for my taste, to be honest... they look more heroic than our companion minis! :lol:

Plus they have metal weapons etc, I'd convert those Germans so they have flint spears and so on?

Yep, those shrunken heads really hit that heroic bullseye! :lol:

Good luck in your search in finding something suitable and not boring. :)

I keep forgetting to post some photos of this little barrow I finished off over Christmas. FIgures from Red Box Games. Super TOR-suitable.

I've considered Lucid Eye and Copplestone Castings primitives, but they look a bit too chunky, I think?
You mean these guys:

Got my Sorceress of Mirkwood miniature. Now just need to paint her:

Raven hair and dark purples and reds for her dress, I think.

That's gorgeous Jon! I like Red Box stuff and it's super-compatible with LoTR minis, which is a bonus.

@Rich: who makes those dwarves?

I think those LE minis are the Neanderthals? I was thinking of the Cromagnon more. But I think they're both rather robust. I want something a little more skinny. :D Like the pic in Heart of the Wild.
