I think those LE minis are the Neanderthals? I was thinking of the Cromagnon more. But I think they're both rather robust. I want something a little more skinny. :D Like the pic in Heart of the Wild.
Yeah. I see what you're saying. What about these guys: https://footsoreminiatures.com/products/irish-warriors

Yes, I will keep on looking, or use those Germans if I don't find anything.

Those dwarves are rather nice, pity the packs contain mostly the same weapon types, except for the command group. I'd love to mix some weapons... do you know how well they match LoTR or Red Box stuff?

I'm afraid not, mate. I find Red Box particularly small so even though I really like them I sold the ones I had as they looked so silly at the side of other miniatures.

I contacted Conqueror minis and asked about the dwarves, and they game me this link:
http://wargameterrain.blogspot.fi/2017/ ... dwarf.html

There's a review and comparison pics down the page. Apparently they're tad taller than GW ones, but if you cut off the integral base which raises them a bit, then they'd be almost the same size. They seem to go well with Northstar plastic dwarves which I have been eyeing as well (and which have the same thing about the integral bases).

Andy from Conqueror also told me they're releasing more dwarves, with x-bows and regular bows, and probably some with one hand weapons (axes & short swords). Sounds good, might be useful for Moria?

Definitely. The moria Dwarves there are to be killed the better!

Personally, I'm already sorted with my set, I have plenty:

Hm, you won't be short of choice then... I'll get me coat.

Anyhow, I managed to find these:

But the sculpts look a bit dodgy, and I am not sure where I would order them... slave 2 gaming?

Well, I caved in and bought a bunch of those Conqueror dawrves... bound to have a use for them with future TOR publications...you know which I mean...

And I might have found a way to make the wild spider thralls too, although it would require some conversion. Victrix makes these new nude (!) Gauls which I could head-swap (since they look a bit too 'gaullish' with moustache and spiky hair), and then give them some furs and loin cloths, flinty spears and so on.

They're not quite so muscular as the Foundry Germanic wild uns, and as Victrix is plastic, they'd be relatively inexpensive in comparison to Foundry (especially with the postage for two blisters  ) and as a bonus I'd have bunch of gauls for my Roman projects? Win-win?

I'm currently painting these for an AIME campaign. my character is a female Dúnedain and these are pretty great at looking gender neutral in my opinion. When I'm finished I'll post an image of the completed mini.

Hey I received my Conqueror dwarves yesterday, and I am very pleased with them. I can take comparison shots with Red Box and GW minis once I have a little spare time... I ordered sixteen (!) spear wielding dwarves, a command group with axes, and eight dwarves with two hand or 'dane' axes as they call them.

So I have big bunch of heavy dwarves to paint, almost a small army. Although there are so many spear-'men', they are versatile, as the weapons and most shields are separate pieces, and the poses are such that it's very easy to do a simple weapons swap to make them axe/sword/etc. wielding little guys.

I wonder what colors would the Moria expedition dwarves wear... Balin's colors I expect?

Oh and I received a Conqueror newsletter today, announcing they've released x-bow and bow dwarves just now!

Eight or sixteen of the lil buggers per pack though..
