1) The Gibbet King is freakin' awesome.
Thanks! He does look a bit fed up, sat there on the floor of the cage. Bless him.

Here are some guards of Minas Tirith:

These go really well (bit like elite/citadel guard) along with the Norman soldier miniatures that look a little less armoured (see next post).

I prefer these to the GW miniatures for soldiers of Minas Tirith which looked like they were wearing plate armour, etc.

Maybe put a flashlight really close to the mini and cast 'wings of shadow' on the wall...

Those look amazing!

Wish I had the time or skill to create miniatures like those!

Butterfingers' regular posts do that for me so I also try to do the same and post when I can. Get painting though, I find it really relaxing, even if it does take hours for each figure as I'm so slow!

Serious question here... What colour do you all prefer the rim of the bases to be painted? I used to paint them black but now do them brown. I'm not sure which I prefer the most but want to be consistent. I'm sorta leaning towards brown (which would mean me repainting lots of bases so they all match) as it compliments the grass/soil/etc base detail but I was wondering if there were strong opinions either way. Thoughts?
