These were all done by the same bloke though. I buy quite a lot of miniatures from him. Actually, I need to have a bit of a clear out and really sell some as I have too many, or more accurately, more than I'll ever use.

Re: Miniatures for TOR
You can buy them on eBay. They were painted by Charles Baynon who goes under the name of cwb21 on eBay. Looking through this thread I also see the painting work of:beckett wrote:

Vini Reid (eBay: vinisminis),
tkdtony's (eBay: tkdtony),
BMA's/Robert (eBay: belmin23),
herve377's (eBay: herve377)
Tkdtony (always) has LOTR minis up on eBay:

Charles Baynon also has some LOTR paints up for auction as well:

Baynon tends to focus on DBA/SAGA miniatures.

Love the Legos, love the minis!

Space is certainly why I need to think about what I want to keep or not - also usage; I doubt I'll really have opportunity to use them all!beckett wrote:They are beautiful. I'd buy some from you if I had the space for them!

Re: Miniatures for TOR
Technically, Baynon's paints can be considered works of art (they are that good) and short term investments since, after all, they are display pieces for more than a handful of miniature companies whose staff members can't paint better than a three year-old.Rich H wrote:Way to put up the costs of these Evening, well done.

For those who don't know, a few companies send Baynon their new sculps for free, which he paints and photographs in his lightbox. The companies use those pictures on their websites and sends them out in newsletters to their subscribers to showcase what can be done with their upcoming releases. Baynon then sells these same display mini's on eBay (lucky us!). Mostly though, he buys box sets, etc., and we get to see his meticulous detail on a wide variety of sculps from many different companies and subjects.
I can't begrudge these painters/seller prices. The only reason they are that expensive (and as much as 3x higher) is because people keep buying them at those prices. The market bears what the buyers are willing to spend. Kudos to the painters who have found their market.

Just being cheeky, but I do commission painting and don't charge anything like those blokes. I too paint figures for a miniature company for display purposes. Just sayin.

Based on what you've posted, you could match their prices and do quite well.jacksarge wrote:but I do commission painting and don't charge anything like those blokes.

Andres Fernandez painted up a man of Gondor using a Norman infantry mini from Conquest Games. This is brilliant.
I really like that tower shield design.
