So, for OM, the published stuff is a good reflection of what comes in as submissions.
I think the well-know, and respected, reputation of OM to adhere strongly to Tolkien's work likely shapes the type of submissions sent in - ie, some people won't send in stuff because they know it is outside the lore, etc. OM can come across as an academic journal in many ways rather than a mainstream gaming fanzine (no bad thing, just an observation!) so if HoF goes with the latter the two 'zines can occupy different spaces and serve the overall community in slightly different way. That's what I was driving at.

I am starting to compile articles for the first issue to be released in September. If there is something that you would like to submit, please get it to the submission email as soon as possible, so as to make the first issue.

I just emailed you, letting you know that I am willing to serve as proofreader. I can only correct spelling & grammar mistakes. I don't know enough about Middle-earth to make corrections regarding the setting.

To all the folks that have material to contribute - I will accept everything. It might not show up in this first issue, but I will keep all material on file by category and use it in future issues.

Just a thought: it would be nice to see new material, rather than stuff that's been around for (literally) years. I wouldn't want HoF to just be a collection of peoples' work that has previously been shared here or for that to be the majority of the content. To be honest, I'd personally prefer no previously published material.

Well, I agree with you Rich but we have to start somewhere.

I need to build interest and momentum and from that will come new stuff. We will have new sourcebooks that will create new ideas and so on.

Like the first iteration of HOF, I am going to start with what I have and let the fans evolve it from there.

Understand, the issue there is people submitting things already published - we're all fans so people doing this now (and for later issues) are going to dictate that without some editorial authority drawing a line and saying "no submissions that have already been published within the [TOR] community". If you want original/new submissions then I'm afraid its you that has to drive that! ;) It's also really why I haven't submitted any of mine and nor will I.
