Published adventures in chronological order?
Re: Published adventures in chronological order?
Hiya
I always planned to get back and update this whole thing when I had time. I'll see if I can get the time now during the summer. With having a Drop box account I can make stuff look a little more fancy in Photoshop and drop them into Drop box as pdf files.
I have all current available books.
Pretty much the Wilderland-based adventures could fit into a smooth timeline. But the biggest issue is then what to do about the Rivendell and Rohan stuff in terms of timeline. I'll have a look.

Doesn't Ruins of the North (the Rivendell adventures) by default (or suggestion) take place after the Darkening of Mirkwood?

No, they're more placed after the start of 'Darkening' but not after the finish:DylanRPG wrote:Doesn't Ruins of the North (the Rivendell adventures) by default (or suggestion) take place after the Darkening of Mirkwood?
"All adventures are notionally set in the years after 2954".
Personally though, I think its more an issue of geographical distance between this and other parts of middle-earth than the timeline. Also, interweaving them with 'Darkening' could dilute and distract from story of that campaign.

Re: Published adventures in chronological order?
I'm using the "interweaving" option in my own campaign. I'm playing for the moment Darkenning on one side and Tales of Wilderland on the other. I didn't like the idea of playing all Tales of Wilderland and then move on to Darkenning, because it goes against the slow burn of Darkenning.Rich H wrote:Also, interweaving them with 'Darkening' could dilute and distract from story of that campaign.
So for the moment, I play in a year (gametime) one scenario from Tales and one scenario from Darkenning. So far it worked well. And in 2954 I will start interweaving Ruins of the North... OK, it may distract from the story of the campaign. Fair enough. But doing it that way makes the campaign so much richer, while keeping the slow burn.
Re: Published adventures in chronological order?
I think interweaving TfW with DoM is a given and works really well. In what sense do you think running adventures from RotN will make for a richer DoM campaign? I don't see how shifting the location to Eriador one year to run one adventure and then (potentially artificially) going back to Wilderland to play some more adventures there would improve the core campaign of the fight to halt, or at least slow, the growing darkness over Mirkwood and the vales around it. Personally I'd run a campaign in Eriador parellel to DoM, with differing heroes, to illustrate the rising tide of darkness in different areas of ME but to show that heroes can and do rise to protect their own lands and people. That feels far richer and more realistic to me and has an added advantage, if running with the same gaming group, of giving players the option of generating different characters for the different campaigns.Lifstan wrote:And in 2954 I will start interweaving Ruins of the North... Re: Published adventures in chronological order?
Can I please get links to all these fan adventures? I would really love to have them.

You can check the FAQs to get links to those that are available. Bear in mind that a good chunk of this thread is several years old and links within the thread might be broken.daddystabz wrote:Can I please get links to all these fan adventures? I would really love to have them.
Jacob Rodgers, occasional nitwit.

Re: Published adventures in chronological order?
Sorry for bumping such an old tread:
I want to play TDoM and TfW intertwined and in logical and chronolgoical order (ad do many others, it seems). Now Tims list seemed awesome, but then I realise it doesn't contain nearly all the adventures in TDoM, it just contains a few of them. Has anyone made a COMPLETE list, containing all? Thanx

Re: Published adventures in chronological order?
Because there is no point listing the rest of the adventures from DoM as the last of the TfW adventures happened on the list already provided; therefore just continue from then on with DoM.Platon wrote: ↑Mon Jun 05, 2017 7:18 amI want to play TDoM and TfW intertwined and in logical and chronolgoical order (ad do many others, it seems). Ah, silly me. Of course. I didn't even think that far. Thank you
