Re: Art : Character illustrations
I've done a few character portraits using Character Artist in Profantasy's Campaign Cartographer. I think they look pretty good for someone who has no artistic talent to speak of. I only have a sense of aesthetics to guide me.

Giblet, that's awesome! I assume you created that? That would be great for a character sheet for a player playing a Hobbit. Will you be creating others with a little Middle Earth "ring" to them?

Thanks! It's meant to be Bilbo on his return journey. I haven't done any Tolkien artworks since I was what, 15 or 16, so it's nice to return to the old stomping ground. Time permitting I'll do a few more of the main characters over the next week.

Re: Art : Character illustrations
I really like the style. The absence of colour defining the features. Rather than inking the main features of the person in, you seem to ink where they aren't. A different and striking style.

I think the style is striking and technically excellent but is really jarring for The One Ring. It feels and looks like a very contemporary style which I'd love to see in, for example, a cyberpunk game or something like Mutant Chronicles. If I saw such art in a book for something like TOR it would make me consider my purchase (in a negative way). Artwork is a strange thing for me; something that is technically excellent can still be a turn off if the style doesn't match the subject matter.

Re: Art : Character illustrations
It looks a lot like Sin City, which is funny because of the the characters in the movie is played by Frodo. Well, Elijah Wood.

Sin City, of course! That's what it reminds me of. Couldn't quite piece it together.
