My bet is that Jon's artwork will be even more open to dual interpretation than the original text. Those who favor wings will see wings, those who favor wing-like shadows will see shadows.

(So we'll have to look at the stat block for the AiMe version and see if there's a flying speed...)

I guess a safe bet would be drawing it from an angle, so you cannot tell if there would be any wings or not. That way Cubicle 7 doesn’t get a ton of angry fans bashing the game for being ‘untrue’ to the source.

I would also guess that the chapter would say something along the lines of ‘tales of these ancient creatures of the shadow sometimes describe them having wings and others without. However, since nobody have seen them in ages and have lived to tell the tale, you only know that they are terrible monsters that should be avoided at all cost.’ keeping the touchy subjects in the middle, knowing that wars have started over inferior matters.

There just *has* to be a sidebar discussing wing/no-wings. If there isn't I'll be paying a personal visit to Jon. And yes, I know where he lives! :P

Here an interview with Gareth Ryder-Hanrahan talking about mega dungeons. Perhaps it can give us some ideas on if we will see a mega dungeon in Moria or how it would be. :?:

Check around 14:00 minute mark.

Of Finarfin's children I am the last. But my heart is still proud. What wrong did the golden house of Finarfin do that I should ask the pardon of the Valar, or be content with an isle in the sea whose native land was Aman the Blessed? Here I am mightier.

He wrote Eyes of the Stone Thief for 13th Age which is a pretty cool megadungeon.

Gareth's one of those writers that I'd buy his books without any kind of review whatever the system/setting it was for.

It might be that (as with Dragons) some Balrogs do have wings while others are wingless.

Agree.
I bought Cthulhu City just for his name and he didn't fail me.

Good point. So we're likely to also see a Swim speed....
