I guess one question would be: will this be a Kickstarter like the London box set?
I already mentioned this in the thread on Moria in the AiME forum, but I certainly hope they do not go KS, as I dislike all that crowdfunded stuff.

Plus, they have not once crowdfunded anything for either Middle Earth game, so it is my guess that they are not allowed to go that route in their contract with Middle Earth Enterprises. After all, everything has to be previewed and approved before it can go to press and that would be an issue with stretch goals and such stuff.

This is awesome! I have a real soft spot for Dwarfs anyway and I was impressed by the previous Lord of the Rings RPG Moria box set. Hopefully C7 will be able to reference the various other Dwarf Houses like the Firebeards and Broadbeams who lived in Moria with the Longbeards. It will also be nice if we get a Dwarves of Moria (Balin's Colony) Culture.
Hmmm. The Broadbeams and Firebeards probably can't be mentioned by those names, though they could be called the Dwarves of Belegost and the Dwarves of Nogrod.
Considering their restrictions on what published material they can use when making the game, and the restriction on the time frame they can use because of this, I do not expect much more than a history overview pre-Hobbit.

Also, I said this in the other thread on Moria too, but if they can do all-Rohirrim adventures, I am sure they can give us an all-dwarf adventure or two, either as part of Balin's group or as a dwarf party sent to check in on them. My only problem with that would be for an all-dwarf adventure set post-death of Balin and pre-LotR. It is clear that what befell the colony was not known, so if a dwarf party found out and survived the mines and did not report this back to Erebor, that would be odd.

Yes, any mention of the Dwarf-houses of the Blue Mountains are likely to be entirely historical, connected to any relics found in Moria, or as an option to detail the heritage of a dwarven player-hero.

The first missions could be connected to the founding of Balin's colony. A company might serve as advance scouts for Balin. Other adventures could be in support of the colony, before the troubles with the Orcs began. But, yes, anything later than that and before the War of the Ring is likely to mess with Tolkien's legendarium. There might also be content aimed at the early Fourth Age.

Is there any chance that the changes in the management of the Tolkien Estate (TV series et cetera), could influence the scope of the material used in the game?

Would need a new contract between C7 (or technically Sophisticated Games) and the Tolkien Estate as M-eE only have a licence for what JRRT granted them way back before the Silmarillion (which was written from his father's notes by Christopher tolkien (the man that just retired)0 so M-eE do not have any more rights to material other than what had been published by JRRT before his death i.e. The Hobbit and LoTR.

I love the cover. It is the most true to Tolkien depiction of the Balrog of Moria ever!
I would be surprised if that is actually the cover.

And, yet...I would be all for it, if it were.
I actually love the cover :D

Cultural Blessing: Dead
You are dead as the proverbial doornail. You automatically pass all Valour and Wisdom checks, however it doesn't do you much good. Likewise your common skills all have a zero ranking, but on the positive side you can't gain any more Shadow.

I also think the image posted by Jon would be perfect as the cover.
